METROPOLITAN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER “The Keys for the Future Micro-Entrepreneurs”

A program designed to help rural people become self- sufficient by providing the opportunity for self employment and small business growth. It provides loans for the start-up or the expansion of small businesses by individuals who have sound ideas but do not qualify for bank credit. What is the Business Development Program?

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? All members of Metropolitan Community Credit Union (JOIN TODAY) Those with low to moderate incomes People who live, work, or worship in Beaufort, Hyde, or Pamlico counties Entrepreneurs willing to locate their business in one of the targeted counties (Beaufort, Hyde, or Pamlico) or able to create three or more jobs

GETTING STARTED We ask that you attend a minimum of six (6) classes to get certified for the lending process. After your six classes, we will assist in helping the business get started. In addition to financial backing, the business development center also assists entrepreneurs by providing computer access and technical assistance. Business training, credit restoration, and consulting are also important benefits that participants in the business development center enjoy

GETTING STARTED The Center, on several occasions, has teamed up with other parties having a vested interest in the economic opportunities provided by a proposal. Together, we then provide technical assistance and some "seed funds" to help start a business.
