ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL By: Nathaniel & Roig

EARLY LIFE  Alexander Bell was born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh Scotland.  Alexander had two brothers that died of a disease called “Tuberculosis” or TB for tubercle bacillus which is basically causes coughing, fever, nigh sweats, and weight loss. On his 11 th birthday he adopted Graham to honor his brothers.  His education started early through his father which was a professor and enrolled in Royal High School in Edinburgh Scotland at the age of 15.  Later got admission to the University of London.

THE BEGINNING OF HIS LIFE  During 1871 Alexander Bell began helping out schools for deaf people by training the school instructors which turn out successfully more schools such as Hartford and Northampton asked for his helped.  In October 1872 Bell opened up his School of Vocal Physiology and Mechanics of Speech in Boston which became a popular learning center for deaf people.  His famous student was Helen Keller which came to him that which she could not speak, hear, or see.

THE INVENTION  The telephone was invented in 1876 along with the “Bell Telephone Company” in 1877 with the help of Thomas Watson which soon left the “Bell Telephone Company” and created the “Fore River Ship and Engine Building Company.”  Random Invention Next!  Bell later created the Hydrodrome or HD-4 which set record speed of 70.86mph (114.04km/h) which was based on the principle of hydrofoils and hydroplanes by William Meacham.

OTHER RANDOM FACTS  Became president of national geographic society  Immigrated to Canada in 1870 and to the United States in  Been working on transmitting speech since he was 18.  First transmission on the telephone was "Mr. Watson, Come here, I want you.”
