TAGS Statement A formula for writing a topic sentence about literature

TAGS is an Acronym T = Title (novel, play, movie = underline or italicize) ( short story, songs, poem, magazine/newspaper articles= “quotation marks”) A = Author G = Genre (novel, short story, play, document, bill, essay, article S = Subject (topic you are writing about )

Model Example: T- A- G- S- TAG STATEMENT EXAMPLES: **USE YOUR VERBS LIST** 1.The play, The Diary of Anne Frank,written by Anne Frank conveys many internal and external conflicts for the main characters. 2. Anne Frank,the writer of the play The Diary of Anne Frank, reveals many internal and external conflicts that the main characters experience. Prompt: Discuss both the internal and external conflict for the main characters in The Diary of Anne Frank.
