New more flexible systems  Move away from statement and become more school based  Individual Development Plans replacing statement with child at the heart of the process  Improving support for parents  Improved early intervention (Early support system established 0-5yrs)  Improved transition to adulthood (upper age limit increased from yrs) to encourage links with Employment

Building capacity  Improving quality – School Action Plans  Professional development  Strategic initiatives – e.g.DFS  UPOSS – developing role of Special Schools  Web provision

Professional Development and Performance Management  RPD – there will be a required Professional Development – NQT, EPD  APD – Agreed Professional development  Systems Leadership - promoted through SEF (School Effectiveness framework) All staff on continuum

Continuous Professional Development  WAG review of CPD and Performance Management  ITT – entitlements of inclusion  Core NQT / EPD professional development  Mandatory ALNCo training  Explore potential to work with other agencies e.g. Health – Child Development courses

Whose responsibility?  Schools?  Clusters?  Local Authorities?  Universities?  Consortia?  WAG? Current thinking is that funding will be linked to consortia and Universities
