INMATE TRACKING SYSTEM PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT: The purpose of this project is: To investigate and deploy available technologies for purposes of Inmate Tracking as a building block for Detention Management. To enable officials to locate offenders, at all times.

INMATE TRACKING SYSTEM ENVISAGED SYSTEM OPERATION: The following statement explains how the proposed system is intended to work:  Inmate Enters / Exits the Cell, Section, and / or Holding Facility door.  This information is sent to the receiver attached to the doorframe, via the transponder fitted on the Wristband,  and the receiver will transmit the information to the system database,  which will record every inmate’s movement information, within or outside of the prison.

INMATE TRACKING SYSTEM BENEFITS OF HAVING THE SYSTEM:  Positive Identification / Verification of inmates without manual fingerprint IDs.  NB: AFIS technology will play a big roll in this regard.  Enhanced Access / Contact of Inmates with:  Legal Representatives.  Social Workers.  Investigating Officials.  Probation Officers  Ensure effective Court attendance by ATPs.  Effective Roll Call.  Locate Inmates.  Prevent Delays at Courts.  Prevent Delays with Investigations.  Prevent Person Switching
