But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” (Genesis 3:9-11 ESV)

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3 ESV) … on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. (Romans 2:16 ESV) We can’t even hide our thoughts from our God

…he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); (2 Peter 2:7-8 ESV) So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley…Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD. (Genesis 13:11-13 ESV)

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (1 Timothy 6:9-10 ESV)

 Unpleasant  Dangerous  Didn’t want to do it Took a Mediterranean cruise and a submarine ride to convince him of where he should be, but when Jonah got to his place, God gave him victory

Right man for the job, until he believed a lie You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4 ESV) Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. (James 1:27 ESV) Saved any way? John 8:24; Luke 13:3; 1 Peter 3:21

 Afraid  Tired  Discouraged  Depressed Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 ESV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? … No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-39 ESV)

 Afraid ? Tired ? Discouraged ? Depressed ?  Find joy, Phil. 4:4  Look forward, Phil. 3:13-15  Share burdens, Mt. 11:28-30  Find the way to renew mind, Rom. 12:2

 The right man to confess  The right man to preach Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter was following at a distance. And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. …And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:54-62 ESV)

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” (1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV) Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22 ESV) Are your values yours? Or, your associates?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV) John 8:24- Believe Luke 13:3- Repent 1 Peter 3:21- Be baptized Revelation 2:10- live faithful
