Residential Styles from 1700 to present PROJECT

2 Parts  Poster for the wall  Wait for it...  Pitch  Will discuss more in depth tomorrow  You are “selling” this style to potential buyers

The Timeline Poster Requires independent and collaborative work Independent YOU are responsible for your own style or styles Collaborative As a team you are creating 1 poster that showcases all the styles together NEATLY.

For Whole Style Period  Name of the Period should be predominately displayed  LARGE, neat, & stylized  Poster size = the number of years this period spanned  1 Decade (10 years) = 5 inches  Bottom of the poster should have arrows for each individual style, showing the time it spanned.

Look at Examples They don’t have the arrows on the bottom. That’s new for this year.

For Each Style  Name  Picture/Pictures of Houses Representing this style  Bullet point of features signature to this style  Any specific style terms (with definitions)  Callout picture of any important features

EXAMPLE This is not a PRIME example. This is just an example so you know what kinds of elements to include. Make yours more better!

ASSEMBLE Your Background  As a group, pick a color or pattern of scrapbook paper. There must be enough of it that you can tape it together to get the width you need  REMINDER 1 Decade (10 years) = 5 inches  Check your calculations w/ teacher first!  Let the teacher know what color you are using  No two time periods should use the same color!

TODAY  Focus on your research  Create your bullet points  Find your pictures  Save it all in Google Docs to print tomorrow  As a team, create your background to scale  TOMORROW  Print all work & assemble poster  Get your sales pitch ready.
