The Nursing Reference Center Plus Mobile App Tutorial support.ebsco.com

Welcome to the Nursing Reference Center Plus mobile app tutorial, a guide to using the many features of the mobile application version of NRC Plus. The NRC Plus mobile app can be downloaded and used on iOS and Android devices. The Nursing Reference Center plus app includes: All Quick Lessons All Evidence-Based Care Sheets All Nursing Practice and Skills All Skill Competency Checklists F.A. Davis’s Drug Guide for Nurses Online access to Nursing Videos

The NRC Plus app is available as a free download from the iTunes App store and Google Play.

After downloading the App, you will need to send yourself an authentication key from your institution’s NRC Plus account. Click the NRC iPhone/iPod Touch Application link at the bottom of the screen. An with an authentication key is sent to you. Access the from your device and click the link found in the to authenticate the application. You have 24 hours to access the key from your device to authenticate the app. If the key is not used within 24 hours, it expires and you will need a new key.

From the Home page of the NRC Plus App, you can: Perform a keyword search using the Find field in the middle of the screen. View Help information about the NRC app. Change your NRC App Settings.

From the Menu at the top of the screen, you can: Change Text Size: Select User Settings and drag the slider to change the size of the text. Check for updates: Select Update Status to check for updates to the NRC Plus content in the app.

To search the NRC Plus app, tap the Find field in the center of the screen. The onscreen keyboard is displayed, along with your previous searches. Tap a previous search or enter your search terms in the Find field and tap Search.

A result list with items matching your search terms is displayed. Result List items may include: Quick Lessons Evidence Based Case Sheets Nursing Practice and Skills Skills Competency Checklists Drug Monographs Tap a result list item to view the item. Click the downward arrow to filter by topic type. You can bookmark your search by tapping the bookmark icon at the top of the screen. Bookmarked searches can be viewed by tapping the icon again at any time.

From the Item, you can: Tap Back to return to the Result List screen. Tap the larger magnifying glass icon to search the app. Tap the smaller magnifying glass icon to search for key terms within the topic you are viewing. Or tap a section header to go directly to that section, e.g. Risk Factors, Assessment, etc. Tap the bookmark icon at the bottom to save the article to your Favorites on the Bookmarks screen. Tap the share icon to the article. Tap the note icon to leave a note on the topic for your own reference at a later time.

You can view your Bookmarks and History by tapping the Bookmarks icon at the top of the screen. Bookmarks are displayed by default. Tap History to view items you have viewed recently. You can remove searches or items from the list by tapping the bookmark icon again on the search or the individual item.

Tap the menu icon at the top of the screen and select Help to view the NRC plus app Help information.
