Current Electricity Parallel Circuit Notes

Rule #1: In a parallel circuit electrons have more than 1 path to follow.

Parallel Circuit Notes Rule #2: In a parallel circuit loads can work or be shut off independently of other loads.

Parallel Circuit Notes Rule #3: In a parallel circuit each load gets the full voltage (electrical pressure) of the battery. If the battery voltage is 6v each load will also receive 6 v.

Parallel Circuit Notes Rule #4: In a parallel circuit the amps at the battery are shared by each load.

Parallel Circuit Notes Rule #5: Parallel circuits are used to wire homes, schools and industries.

1.Draw box or rectangle. 2. Place battery on top of box. 3. Draw a branch for each load. 4. Place symbols in their proper order.

Step #1: Build battery line and top branch as a series circuit.

Step #2: Add 2 nd Branch to the circuit

Step #3: Add final Branch

Step #1: Build battery line and top branch as a series circuit. Step #2: Add 2nd Branch to the circuit. Be careful to attach test leads to the correct spot. Step #3: Add final branches to circuit.
