GOALS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014 Office of Communications & Marketing/Government Relations

LOUISVILLE.EDU Goals for Fiscal Year Continue focus on campus communications, including internal and emergency communications, in conjunction with the Provost’s Office and Human Resources. 2.Create coordinated marketing and communications channels on Health Sciences Campus and provide support to advance the partnership between the university and KentuckyOne Health. 3.Market the research enterprise of the university more fully to assist with the growth of the institution’s research agenda.

LOUISVILLE.EDU Goals for Fiscal Year Based on recommendations from the 21 st Century University committees, fund a sustained marketing campaign to improve the academic and research reputation of the University of Louisville. 5.Oversee all internal and external communications associated with the 21 st Century University initiative, coordinating with the Provost’s Office, Office of the President and Excelcor. 6.Introduce a university wide calendaring system to ensure thorough, consistent messaging on campus events and activities. Promote broad usage and offer support/training for units.

LOUISVILLE.EDU Goals for Fiscal Year Continue improved service to business units through an Integrated Marketing Communications Model. Continue ongoing training in “agency model’ and market our department’s resources and capabilities to all units, faculty and staff. 8.Use annual university editorial calendar to focus communication efforts/messages across advertising and news platforms. 9.Support Charting Our Course Comprehensive Campaign communications goals.

LOUISVILLE.EDU Goals for Fiscal Year Collaborate with Office of the President in supporting UofL Foundation communication needs. 11.Manage policy issues and statutory changes at the local, state and federal level to communicate information about UofL’s research, academic successes, ROI and statewide impact. Use government relations channels to leverage existing funding sources and explore new funding sources. 12.Continue to refine Centralized Sponsorship program, utilizing the Office of Communications and Marketing as the central hub for all non-athletic sponsorship programs. Add sponsorship elements to all applicable university wide RFP’s.

LOUISVILLE.EDU Goals for Fiscal Year Coordinate marketing/licensing activities with Athletics Department. 14.Create and carry out a robust UofL Destination strategy, attracting various audiences to campus, providing welcome services to university visitors and developing/implementing a comprehensive campus visit program. 15.Increase UofL’s digital media exposure, marketable assets and engagement. 16.Support and promote campus-wide initiatives through participation on, reporting of activities (Great Places to Work, Sustainability, Diversity, etc.)
