Bram Cohen and Ashwin Navin saw an opportunity. Movie studios needed a way to transfer their files quickly and efficiently- Bit Torrent was a good way to do it. Warner Bros. was looking for a way to keep up with the times and go digital The companies needed a way to combat piracy.

 Cohen and Navin used old skills to form this company  Cohen used to work at Yahoo and saw the need for a fast downloading  DCM was the venture capitalist and funded the project  This was risky, as Napster had legal issues and was shut down- Bit Torrent spent over $50,000 on legal research and support

 Doll Capital Management is the sole investor in this project  Made a deal with Bit Torrent.  Warner Bros. want to take the next step in technological advances  Next step to sign deals with studios and record labels to establish price of files.
