LISTED BUILDINGS GRANT-AID SCHEME– ELIGIBILITY Secular (Non-Ecclesiastical buildings) Grade A 35% Grade B+ 35% Grade B1 35% Grade B2 35% Ecclesiastical buildings Grade A35% Grade B+ 35%

Thatch buildings 75% for eligible items pertaining to thatch and roof structures only Enhanced grant 90% - Income Support Income based Jobseekers Allowance Guaranteed Pension Credit Reasonable professional fees 75%

Applicants who are not eligible for grant aid Government; Housing Associations; Large Commercial Organisations - Financial Institutions (such as banks, building societies, insurance companies etc.) A major aim of the scheme is to help retain the ‘special interest’ of listed buildings – through the repair of original fabric.

From April 2008 to March 2013, HBU has invested £20M in 963 conservation schemes….. …..for every £1 of grant-aid spent – results in overall spend of £7.65…… 1:7.65 of leverage funding …..equates to an overall investment in the NI construction industry of approximately £150M over the last five years. GRANT-AID ……SINCE 2008

Additional funding secured for listed buildings The Northern Ireland Executive’s Economy and Jobs Initiative has provided additional funding, amounting to £3M - New increase has been effective from 19 November The cap for projects has been increased from £150K to £500K In addition - the rate of listed building grant-aid has been increased from 35% to 45% of eligible costs. Increase of about 28%, in the amount of grant-aid to be paid.

Community owned - NGO Grant-aid Acquisition Scheme Grant-aid may also available for charities to acquire historic buildings at risk in Northern Ireland through a scheme administered for us by the Architectural Heritage Fund. UP TO £125K In an agreement with the Fund we have set aside money from the listed buildings grant budget to help it fund ‘Building Preservation Trusts or other charities in NI, seeking assistance with the acquisition costs of Listed Buildings at Risk’.
