What do you think the steps of the scientific method are?

1 st Step: Choose a Problem (Question) What do you want to know? State the problem as a question Example: Why is the sky blue?

2 nd Step: Research your problem What can you find out? Gather information to help you better understand your problem or question Read, get advice, make observations

3 rd Step: Make a Hypothesis What do you predict? Make an educated guess of what you think the solution is to your question or problem Predict what you think will happen Ex: I hypothesis that the sky is blue because of the reflection of the ocean.

4 th Step: Do an Experiment How are you going to test your hypothesis? Come up with a plan or an experiment to test your hypothesis Follow the steps to perform the experiment

5 th Step: Observe and Record your data What happened during your experiment? Observe and record what happened in your experiment Reflect on your results Create a chart or graph of your data

6 th Step: Draw Conclusions What did you find out? Look back at your observations Summarize your results
