The Constructopedia Project Inspiring Kids to Build

Goals Ability to work from any location in the world Create a template that works through a database to provide modules for kids to build with little to no questions asked Document 20 modules that meet the above criterion Content should engage 30% of kids for more than 2 hours Format the content so it can be delivered via: – Internet on demand – live Webcasts – CD ROM

Methods Develop online modules that walk kids through building Constructopedia projects Develop a website that makes accessing the modules fun and easy Offer online video conferencing to allow program coordinators to work with the kids remotely

Modules Clear and concise methods to build each project Pictures and text to describe parts and directions Feedback methods to allow kids to help us improve the modules

Website Easily navigated through many search options Fun and interesting ways of accessing modules to help draw kids in Look and feel of website can dynamically change as the project evolves

Video Conferencing Using MS Netmeeting, classes can be conducted remotely The program coordinator at BIY can guide the kids through the modules through web cast Kids can ask questions and respond remotely as well
