Presentation: what is WE CAN Young? Presentation: What is WE CAN Young?

WE CAN end all violence against women & WE CAN Young The WE CAN-campaign : Violence against women is not OK!  15 participating countries  5000 coalition partners  and 5 million changemakers The WE CAN Young-campaign: Strengthening of sexual and relational resilience of boys and girls

WE CAN Young: how does it work? With “Changemakers” and “partners”: We are WE CAN Young The WE CAN Young-method:  What is it? (education)  What can I do and what do I want? (activation)  How do I involve and recruit others? (mobilisation) It’s about every day, often accepted forms of gender inequality and disrespect. Change is possible, however small!

WE CAN Young: Spread the Word!

Let’s practice. Sooo….. What do you think: With that mini-skirt on, you are asking for it! It is perfectly fine to talk someone into going to bed with you Whoever agrees to A should also go all the way My body is mine!

The media influence What designer brand is this? Do you know it? What does the face of the woman tell you? What do the faces of the surrounding men tell you? What else about this picture catches your attention?

WE CAN Young: Get involved! Through your local government ? At school, with friends, at your sports club or in the neighbourhood. Tons of tips and tricks, films and examples in the Toolkit. Be visible !

WE CAN Young Changemakers present their actions Click on picture for YouTube film

What can you do? You decide your action, whatever suits your interests. Spread your message with friends, family members, class mates and neighbours. Make people aware of gender inequality and stimulate respect for limits. You implement your own action or mini-campaign.

WE CAN Young: Next steps! Participate? Brainstorm? Work out concrete ideas? Questions and follow up meetings.
