Daily Schedule ● In your parent handbook you will find our basic daily schedule. ● Specials are at 7:50 on Wednesday. ● Our library day is Thursday. ● Please be on time - I do count tardies! ● The schedule is subject to change due to a special event or changes in other schedules.
3rd Grade Expectations ● In 3rd grade the level of work and responsibility increase greatly. ● Class Rules o Be kind, safe, and responsible o Do your best work o Have fun! ● Behavior Chart ● ROCK Coupons ● The “You ROCK” award ● Study Hall // Recess ● I set the bar high - I will very rarely give them the answer. o “What can you do to solve this problem?”
Homework & Planners ● Homework is every night (Please check and sign planners every night!) o Reading for 30 minutes - Recording sheet o Math homelink o Spelling Words o 3 Weekly Writing Pieces- Assigned & due on Fridays (later in the year these will be done online through Google Docs) Choice Piece Write about your home reading Prompt of teachers choosing
Technology This year there will be a lot of technology used in the classroom and at home. ● Home writing ● Infinite Campus & Grade reporting ● Typing practice ● PARCC assessment testing ● Class website If for whatever reason your students does not have access to a computer or the internet at home let me know ASAP so I can make accommodations for them in the classroom.

Literacy - cont. ● Producing higher quality writing work. o Paragraphs o Ideas o Revising to really make a well written piece. ● Cursive ● Vocabulary ● Spelling ● Word Work ● Read Aloud
Math ● Keep the family letters that we send home at the beginning of every unit. ● I give students a chance to go back and correct their work on their math tests. ● I connect math to everyday/concrete ideas to answer the question “When will I ever use this?” ● Math maybe a little different from when were in school. o Partial Products and Lattice Multiplication ● If the math homework is completely over your students head just write a note on it or in their planner. o We review the homework most everyday.
Science Our four science units are … 1. Forces and Interactions 2.Weather and Climate 3.Life Cycles 4.Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems
