The Beginning… Started in 1999 Goal: Get crews to flooded crossings before or as quickly after flooding as possible 48 at-grade road crossings currently being monitored MCDOT TMC & FCD ALERT monitor notifications and share information during an event Cost shared 50/50 on additional ALERT Stations

What do they look like?
How do they work? Lights can be activated by an ALERT sensor –Stream gage –Status sensor Sends periodic “alive” data, can send an intrusion alarm if cabinet is opened Can be turned on/off by ALERT Staff Notification sent to MCDOT
