SUNY Council on Assessment (SCoA) Enhances the assessment of institutional effectiveness and student learning by building, leading, and supporting a SUNY-wide assessment community that fosters collaboration, reduces duplication of effort and provides guidance and resources to campuses Plans and leads professional development opportunities for faculty, staff and administrators in the area of assessment Meets in January and June. Next meeting is on June

SCoA Committee Plans Assessment Education Committee develops ideas for assessment education curriculum and certificate programs; collects and shares assessment information and resources; proposes regional networking/professional development opportunities; and works to integrate professional development opportunities on assessment into other system-wide organizations. Outreach Committee develops and implements a communications strategy with campus leadership, assessment leaders, assessment practitioners and system-wide areas of practice groups concerning trends, examples, and implications of assessment issues. Promising Practices Committee assists SUNY campuses in their efforts toward institutional improvement and renewal and provides information and materials that reflect sound practices in assessment of institutional effectiveness. 13
