What is an Exchange? A four week clinical attachment In a foreign country Working as a medical student Bilateral exchange system (i.e. a foreign student takes your place in the UK) Wide variety of subjects & countries available

Why go on an Exchange? Unique educational and cultural experience Broadens understanding of medical and social conditions in different countries Make new and exciting international friends Chance to get out of the UK It’s great fun!!

Where can I do them? Pretty much anywhere!!! (depending on your Medical School)

But how am I meant to understand people? The official language of the exchanges is ENGLISH !!!!! (lucky us) Clinical teaching is in English Surgery can be a popular option in some countries Foreigners speak English more better than we can!
