How many times a week are you late to school? Leslie Lariz Marisol Cipriano Period

California Standards 8.0 Students organize and describe distributions of data by using a number of different methods including frequency tables, histograms, standard line and bar graphs, stem-and leaf displays, scatterplots, and box-and-whisker plots Students determine confidence intervals for a simple random sample from a normal distribution of data and desired margin of error Students determine the p-value for a statistic for a simple random from a normal distribution.

Hypothesis We believe that the average student is late at least twice a week to their first period class.

Data Collection Sampling technique is being used Example: We collected data by using the random sampling method. We went out during the school day to ask 40 students, using random number table to survey 40 students.

Statistics From our survey, the students sample time is 24.4 minutes with a sample standard deviation of 20.4

Hypothesis Testing We are telling the true because we would get here late to see people coming in late We believe that the average student is late at least twice a week to their first period class. The students sample time is 24.4 minutes Our hypothesis is that Century students have a average of 15 minutes being tardy At 5% level of significance, were sorry to reject. That there is a lot of evidence to support our claim.

Error Analysis Our sample mean is 24.4 minutes, and the 95% confidence level for the population mean is between 9.6 to 22.5 minutes. The marginal error is about 6 minutes. Our sample error is failed to the possible of the population. We might need to take more samples to Students Tardys, Students fail to check their survey.

Conclusion Our hypothesis is that Century students have a average of 15 minutes being tardy. In our survey of 40 students, we found the sample mean of 24.4 minutes with a standard deviation of 20.4 minutes. We conclude that the population mean for all the students is between 9.6 to 22.5 minutes with 95% confident. We test our hypothesis with 5% of significance, and we could confirm that the hypothesis is correct.
