16 June 2004 CAN Branch PSU 2 What is it? A 6U crate, containing Power supply modules (up to 8) CAN patch modules (up to 4) Control & monitoring (ELMB) Capacity Maximum of 16 isolated branches Each branch powering up to 32 CAN devices (depending on load)

16 June 2004 CAN Branch PSU 3 What does it do for you? Provides the required CAN supply voltages Provides a convenient method of ‘patching’ the CAN bus into the cabling to the remote devices Connects directly to a Kvaser interface Provides; via a CAN interface (DCS) Monitoring (current, voltage) of each CAN bus branch. ON/OFF control of each branch.

LHCb: 3-6 Search for a suitable contractor to build and supply the production units (price enquiry) Complete the testing, including EMC, environmental etc. Review production aspects of the design, to improve cost, safety, reliability etc.
