G ENERAL I NFORMATION On average, there are 3-5 classes per week that come in for check-out only. On average, there are 2-4 classes per week that come to the media center for research. On average, students come on an individual pass to the media center.

C IRCULATION STATISTICS The graph to the left shows the circulation statistics for the media center in It also shows the books placed on hold by students.

C OLLABORATION AND TEACHING This year, I have collaborated with 9 teachers. Most of the collaboration was based on a religion unit for which I created websites and co-taught with the social studies teachers. On average, I teach 4 classes per week.

B OOK T ALKS Each month students present a book talk on the school news. I help students to prepare for their book talk.

G ENERAL I NFORMATION ABOUT THE C OLLECTION There are 18,667 books, videos, and book on tape/cd in the media center. There are 430 items cataloged as equipment. The average age of the collection is 1993.

W HAT DOES IT ALL MEAN ? The media center is used frequently by individual students and classes. However, it might be used more often if we had more up-to- date resources in the media center. On average, a media center collection should not be more than 5 years old. Unfortunately, the average age of the collection is Therefore, most of the materials in the media center are over 16 years old. In order to help solve this problem, I need to make sure media funding is used to purchase up-to-date materials. Therefore, I would like to request supplies from other funding available so that the majority of my funding can be spent on collection materials. I also need support to weed materials that are no longer relevant. It should not be the quantity of the materials, but the quality. I would also like to collaborate with more teachers so that I am impacting student learning. In order to accomplish this, I need help from administration to be able to plan with teachers while my paraprofessional stays in the media center. Finally, I plan to research grants where I can find more funding for my media center. I would like time to work with other teachers on grants that will benefit not only the media center, but classroom teachers as well. If supported, I feel that these steps will lead to continued improvement of the media center program.
