Tips from Mrs. Cash’s 1 st grade to keep you safe before, during and after a tornado

 Make a communication plan with your family so everyone knows who to call or text.

 Listen or watch the news

 Have emergency kit put together including flashlight, first aid kit, food and water.

 Look for danger signs like  dark, greenish sky  large hail  large, dark, low-lying cloud  loud roar, like a freight train

 Go to the basement, cellar, or room in the middle of your house.  Stay away from windows and doors.  Protect your head with your arms or a blanket. Get to the Basement

 Stay or get into a car or truck. Make sure you buckle your seat belt.  If no car or truck is not available then find a ditch to lay flat in or under a highway overpass.

 Make sure you have on shoes or boots.  Do not touch and power lines that are down.  Text family and friends to let them know you are OK.
