A competency distinctive characteristic is that it has a DIRECT UTILITY For personal well being For social life For work RESULTS

BASIC CIVIC LABORAL The three of them implies undercover learning, but they manifest by their RESULTS (Valuable Performances and Products) TYPES OF COMPETENCIES

EXAMPLES: Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Basic Notions of Natural Sciences, Telematics RESULTS THEY GENERATE: PRODUCTS AND PERFORMANCES DIRECTLY USSEFUL IN DAYLY LIFE: To take a bus, Shopping, Using a telepbhone, an automatic cashier or a fax. PRODUCTS AND PERFORMANCES DIRECTLY USSEFUL IN WORK: Taking a training program, Packing, Taking Security and Higienic Meassures. Basic Competencies

EXAMPLES: Adaptability, Respect to Civic Rules, Voting, Respect to Ecology. It define a Labor Competency RESULTS in terms of Products and Performances, that meet Quality characteristics expected by clients or employers It functions as a referent to asses competency, REGARDLESS THE WAY IT WAS AQCUIRED. Technical Labor Competency Standard

A document with official It is standard of a work labor performed with an maximum quality level It is the referent used in competency assesment It defines qualitative characteristics It is developed by experts in the labor function with the methodological support of CONOCER Technical Labor Competency Standard (NTCL)

Standard Competency Level It is assigned considering: The intrinsic difficulty of labor that standard refers to The autonomy degree of persons who perform that function and their responsibility for other people work. The variety of activities implied in the labor function
