All you need to know about Al-Khwarizmi! MADE BY LIBBY

Who is he? Muhammad ibn Musa (Al-Khwarizmi) was a Persian mathematician, astronomer, geographer and a scholar in the House of Wisdom in Baghdad. The House of Wisdom was a teaching center where he had become very known. He was born in Persia in 780 AD and he died in 850 AD.

His family. Al-Khwarizmi was very private about his family so nobody knows much about his family yet we do know that his family could be Muslim. He did Arab math so his family was probably Muslim. His family also might have known Latin because most of his books are translated into Latin. His books were translated into a bunch of other languages as well but Latin is the most common.

What is Algebra?  Algebra is a type of math that you would probably get in a math equation and how you do it is you have to find out a letter which could be x or y and the letter is replacing a number. Then you have to work out the rest of the sum to find out what the letter is.

Death. He died in 850 AD which meant that he died before his 70th birthday. His work is still very important today as algebra is still used.

That's all! I hope you learnt a little more about Al - Khwarizmi!
