Planning for NOCTI Testing Which tests? (pre, post, written, performance, test titles?) Which mode of administration? (online, paper/pencil?) How many sessions? ( 180 minutes, 2 sessions of 90 minutes, 3 sessions of 60 minutes) What are the test dates? What accommodations are needed? What is our contingency plan? Does the assessment have a Technical Manual to review? What resources do we have to help students become “test-wise”?

Documenting Gains within Special Needs Population Special Needs Population Text-to-Speech Large Print Additional Time Allowance Interactive Assessments Disaggregate Data … NOCTI Can Accommodate All IEPs … NOCTI Can Accommodate All IEPs

Practice the question format all year long with your students. Flexible schedule for Performance Testing Incorporate Study Guides within the assessment process (Two Months Prior to the Post Assessment)

Show Me The Data... NOCTI Reports

Comparative Score Report

Score Reports Visual Enhancements Pie charts New format: separate worksheets for test scores and comparative data (site, state and national averages) More Data Criterion Referenced Cut Scores Reporting Allows sites to view reports beyond standard one-year timeframe

Adjust Curriculum Using DATA Do Overall Scores Match Your Student’s Profile? If NOT… Why NOT? Was it…. Test anxiety? Testing environment? Test preparation?...OR Mismatch with curriculum?

Why do all of this?  It is best for students!  It really links the various levels of education.  It causes academic courses and CTE degree major courses to have a linkage.  It gives faculty members a reason to work together. reason  It puts a “reason” into what students are learning. Bottom line…..  It is best for students!
