“Pass the Jug” Activity

“Pass the Jug” Imagine that you are on the prairie with Jacob’s family. Water is scarce and you need to distribute it properly. You have just finished fighting the first fire and are very thirsty. “Pass the Jug” and pour out into your cup how much water you think you will need to quench your thirst.

“Pass the Jug” continued Pour all the water back into the jug. This time, you have a description of yourself and how much water you need. Person number 1 takes their water accordingly and then so on. How did this work? Did everyone get their fair share?

Now your turn! If you were in Jacob’s family, how might you have conserved water between the whole group fairly? Explore options with your group. Work together to write a plan on how you might conserve water and make it last as long as possible during the drought. Must be ½ page long.
