Wall survey: With and without TT7

The wall targets are hybrid targets made of precise uncoded targets (the pin targets) which enter in the hole of the target holder and adhesive coded targets of which we use only the code. Target holder (fake brick with a 8 mm H7 hole) Adhesive target glued on the front face of the target holder Precise uncoded target with a 8 mm pin inserted in the hole of the holder Remember: the ring on the adhesive target does not participate to the measurement of the position but only to the automatic identification of the target, the position is given only by the pin target. But… the ring and the pin should be reasonably concentric, at the 1 mm level.

Distribution of the dummy brick targets in the wall (the numbers refer to the empty bricks cells, the cell were the brick goes is not included and represented by the green box) these are the positions of the bricks in the array 6x6, other 4 bricks are distributed in the top empty part of the wall Wall horizontal: (7+1) x = 52 Wall vertical: (9 +1) x = 64 Inside each cell the brick is always touching the ribbon at the right

Green: brick targets 6x6+4=40 Blue: adhesive targets on the 60x60 plastic plates glued on the ribbon- trays crossing points = 38 Red: adhesiveiron plates with magnetic targets on them = 22 Magnetic targets on the yellow beamMagnetic and pin targets on the top end-caps Magnetic and pin targets on the left end-caps Magnetic and pin targets on the right end-caps SB 1 SB 2 CROSS Final placement of all the targets Target on the magnet

9/12 wall1 + TT7 15/12 wall1 alone Top and bottom beams The wall has moved about 3mm back, the second semiwall is still tilted but by half of the previous tilt Tilt of 6 mm of the Second semiwall (gallery side) Top views Wall Calib. bar TT7 Calib. bar Wall Calib. bar TT7

15/12 9/12 Top and bottom beams TT7 pushed backward Wall Red: end-caps of the rock side (pin targets and magnetic targets, they have different thicknesses so they make two parallel curves) Blue: end-caps of the gallery side (still two curves) Side views

Top and bottom beams wall The kink of the second semiwall is visible also at the level of the beams, with a a little tilt (changing also of sign) in between the top and bottom beams SB1 SB2 Side view 15/12

15/12 top and bottom beams detailed views Tilt with changement of the sign of the angle for the semiwall with the kink Almost constant tilt for the first semiwall

Kink of the second semiwall about 3 mm Kink of the second semiwall about 6 mm 15/12 9/12 Detail of the kink by using the fake brick targets Note that in both measurements the semiwall without the kink has a larger spread in y like it is « more relaxed »

Detailed analysis of the array of 6x6 bricks 9/12 15/12 The point with the red circle is probably corresponding to a brick with the pin target not completely inserted (by 1 mm), it will be indicated in all the following plots as « bad target » We can oberve the kink of the second semiwall, as in the previous pages, reduced by a factor 2 in the second measurement, some deformation with respect to the vertical is still present, even without TT7.

9/12 15/ Bottom Top Top end-caps of TT7 Analysis of the horizontal deformation (top view) along the beam axis as a function of the height in the wall At the bottom the two semiwalls are continous Bad target

Analysis of the vertical deformation (tside view) along the beam axis as a function of the horizontal coordinate along the wall RockGallery Bad target Left end-caps of TT7 (rock) Right end-caps of TT7 (Gallery) It looks like that the wall was pushed at the bottom by the TT, now it became more flatter, altough there is a residual effect of non verticality of about 1-2 mm 9/12 15/12

Alignment of trays and ribbons

Look at the height of targets belonging to the same tray level, max dispersions are of the order of 1 mm with the exception of the top tray (6) where it is much smaller. 1 mm 0.3 mm 1 mm Wall1 +TT7 9/12

Look at the height of targets belonging to the same tray Level The pattern of points is exactely the same as the one measured On 9/12 !!! 1 mm 0.3 mm 1 mm Wall1 alone 15/12

Look at the horizontal coordinate of targets touching the same ribbon. Some opposite systematic behaviour is observable for the two semiwalls Wall1 +TT7 9/12

Look at the horizontal coordinate of targets touching the same ribbon. There is a global shift of about 1 mm with respect to the measurement on 9/12 and some little changes for some points Wall1 alone 15/12

Summary of the wall and TT positions in the magnet coordinates system: We take as origin the first bolt at the left The center of the magnet (from Mario) should be with respect to this first bolt at an height (Z) : 2* (1150/2)=2905 mm The wall + TT (Still from Mario should be at +45 mm with respect to the center of the magnet, so at = 2950 mm with respect to the first bolt Position of the wall from the measurement on 9/12 X= Z= TT7: X= Z= There are 6 mm of shift in the direction of the rock of the wall with respect to the TT7, TT7 is shift in height of 4 mm Measurement on Wall1 standalone (15/12): X= Z=2950.4
