Purpose of the Scoping Meeting Provide information on the project Identify public issues to be analyzed in the EIS to assist with alternative development

Dewey Conveyor Right of Way Project EIS GCC Dacotah, Inc. seeks a 100-foot wide right-of-way across one and one-half miles of National Forest and about one mile of lands administered by BLM. GCC Dacotah proposes to construct an elevated and enclosed, seven-mile long conveyor belt to transfer limestone from a new quarry site to a proposed rail load- out facility along an existing rail line near Dewey SD. Most of the proposed alignment is on private land owned by GCC Dacotah.

Issues to be Evaluated American Indian Considerations (Nat’l Historic Preservation Act) Cultural Resources Sound Considerations Visual Quality Public Safety Land Use Fish and Wildlife Air Quality Geology, Soils and Minerals Water, quality & quantity Vegetation Social and Economic Values Threatened and Endangered Species

These photos were provided by the conveyor manufacturer as examples of the conveyor and construction.
