Who We Are The French Dual Language Program is an initiative of FACE Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.Cultural Services of the French Embassy The program is overseen by an advisory committee of engaged parents, educators and philanthropists.advisory committee 2 FACE Foundation is a nonprofit organization, chartered by the state of New York. FACE, is dedicated to nurturing French-American relations through innovative international projects in the arts, education, and cultural exchange. Our mission is to expand access and meet the growing need for French- English Dual Language Education programs in NYC. Housed in the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York, and overseen by a Board of Trustees, FACE serves an extensive network of patrons through its cultural and educational programs and provides support to various initiatives through its partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

Our Vision 3 A New York City network of French Dual Language public schools through 12th grade, preparing a diverse group of New York City public school students for a bilingual future.

The Bilingual Revolution Starts Now 4 The present and future of New York City is international. Let’s prepare New York City’s students to thrive in this future. The bilingual revolution begins in French and starts now.

The Bilingual Revolution - K-8 is underway. 5

We can now build New York City’s next great International High School The School for International Studies in Brooklyn will be New York City’s first French Dual Language International Baccalaureate public school. With your help, we’ll build a destination for all K-8 French Dual Language students. We’ll raise the bar by providing the only French- focused International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in a New York City public school. We’ll serve students who would otherwise never benefit from bilingualism or the rigorous preparation of the International Baccalaureate. 6

Adopt a school: The School For International Studies 7 The School for International Studies, is located in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, in a growing French community. It has been collectively adopted by the French community, under the aegis of the Comité des Associations Françaises. We’re seeking $100,000 annually to build and sustain the city’s first French public bilingual International Baccalaureate program. This will give our community a rigorous and accessible bilingual education from kindergarten up to college.

8 Needs By adopting the School For International Studies at the $100,000 annual level you’ll transform the educational experience of public school students each year by providing: French Language International Baccalaureate curriculum and materials Assessments towards the International Baccalaureate Diploma French books and resources French language and French heritage enrichment offerings

9 Benefits Your company will benefit by receiving: Wide recognition as the School for International Studies Lead Partner in all French Embassy and the School for International Studies communications materials and in media efforts (the Embassy's French Dual Language efforts have been featured in the NY Times and other leading media channels.) Recognition as Lead Partner at all externally-focused School for International Studies events. Multiple employee engagement opportunities at the school and at your company. A chance to make a lasting impression on the school and the diverse student body it serves! Wide acknowledgement throughout the French community and beyond. A dedicated plaque at the school (for Adopt a School level). Ongoing updates on your impact.

Further Advantages for the French Community Children of employees of some of the largest French companies (many members of the FACC) attend French Dual Language programs and will benefit from the School for International Studies. Children from the US, and many other countries, will gain access to a unique education All attending children preserve and/or develop strong links with France and its culture. We’re developing long-term and long-lasting interest for the French language, cultural products, French tourism, etc. There is a unique, beautiful and vibrant atmosphere of multilingualism in classrooms. 10
