Math 6 Fluently Dividing Multi-Digit Numbers Using the Standard Algorithm Demonstrating Mastery

M.6.NS.2 Students will fluently divide multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.

PROBLEM You have 25 students in your classroom. You have been collecting coins all year to pay for your field trip. Your class has collected $2, The cost for each student is $ Do you have enough for the trip? How do you know? How much more do you need or how much over are you?

SOLUTION They have not collected enough so far. Students should be able to estimate and figure out that there is not enough money. We know that because there are 25 students and it costs 105 per person. So we must have at least 2,500 to cover. Actual amount is 2,625. They have only $ They need $ more in order to have enough to go.
