I N THE EXTENDED PAPER YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SUMMARISE FROM AN EXTRACT AND PUT KEY DETAILS IN YOUR OWN WORDS.... Question 3 tests this ability. TOP TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE SUMMARISING: Read the passages carefully. Highlighting key information that you will be summarising. Write in an informative style- You are giving a factual summary DO NOT WRITE A NARRATIVE OR IN THE FIRST PERSON Do NOT quote phrases from the passages. You must use YOUR OWN WORDS!! You must be CONCISE in your answer, you need to get as many points as possible into a few lines! If you are doing the Extended paper you must NOT write more than one side of average handwriting.
