The Lost City of Atlantis Introduction Atlantis is a legendary sub continent like island which is believed to be advanced Utopian society containing wisdom and can bring peace to all creatures in the world In brief terms, the story of Atlantis was first told in two of Plato’s documentaries; the Timaeus and the Critias. This presentation assumes the role to explain the origin, history and gives a comprehensive understanding of what exactly the Lost City of Atlantis is. 2

Sacred objects and its attributes According to DeMolay (2007), Plato describes Atlantis as a piece of subcontinent lands that is technologically sophisticated, but contains morally bankrupt and evil empire, because it attempted the world domination by force. the people living in it, commonly known as Athenians have great ability to defeat powerful foe through the forces of spirits they own. 6

A comparison of this place to those that serve similar functions in other cultures Michaels (2010) assets that Plato well indicate that Atlantians are great and passionate engineering and architectural base. Historically, Atlantis city is built on a hill and surrounding of mass of water which could fit a ship a tunnel to pass through According to Plato’s story, there existed amazing buildings which were complete with both hot and cold fountains sharing dining halls and stone wall covered with precious metals. 7

The relevance of this place and these objects in contemporary culture According to Klossner (2006), historical analysts believe that most of the important accomplishments of the prehistoric world originated from Atlantis. Like other historical sites, the legend about Atlantis helps to bring tourists to Thera by the boatload. Here, the tourists enjoy black sand beaches archaeological sites and dramatic volcanic cliffs (Klossner, 2006). Some can find rest in the Hotel Atlantis. 9
