Types Of Computer- Mainframe Computers. Alla’ Abu-Sultaneh 9B1

Getting To Know A Mainframe Computer A Mainframe computer is a very large digital computer, that enables you to let users to work at the same time. It is really fast with a very large CPU (control processing unit. And they are usual more expensive than any other computer.

Uses & Features Since mainframe computers are large; they are used in large companies, organizations and banks. Their main purpose is to run commercial applications for example; banking and insurance. Main Features: -Several CPU’s. - Very fast processor speeds. - Huge amount of storage capacity. - Huge internal memories.

1 Advantage: -They can be used to do very large jobs which require large memories and very fast processor time. 1 Disadvantage: -They are very expensive to operate and maintain. Advantage & Disadvantage
