Managing In Tough Times “Bits & Tips” Youth: Time Value of Money

Money Management Skills Everyone needs to know! Parents should educate children about money at an early age. Let kids brainstorm ways to save money.

Setting Financial Goals Teach children the importance of making wise financial decisions. Help your child choose a financial goal. Brainstorm ideas of how to save money.

Saving Thermometers Create saving thermometers with financial increments to color as you reach your financial goal. Visualizing the end goal and the progress made towards the goal makes the goal more attainable.

Be an Example Children are led by example. Your kids will pick up your values, attitudes, and money habits by listening and watching you. Set a financial example that you would be proud for your children to follow!
