Volunteers, COHI, and Areas of Need Circle of Health International Annual Retreat, June 2009 Provincetown, MA

While we (COHI’s BOD members, staff, and committed others) are….  Passionate about COHI’s work;  Dedicated to the success of COHI’s projects; and  Possess full faith in COHI’s leadership…

Furthering our work requires the multifaceted contributions of MANY!  Volunteers can and do play key roles in promoting COHI’s work internationally.  Our needs our diverse, as are the talents of those who approach COHI offering to contribute their time. Our goal is to find a win-win match between need and volunteer interest.

Current volunteer needs at COHI 1. A donor system analyst This volunteer will:  Go through COHI's financial history and create a system by which we can access, quickly and easily, groups of donors based on amounts given and designations of gift.

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 2. Outreach coordinator for COHI Delivers, (COHI's student placement program). This volunteer will: o Conduct a mass, targeted outreach campaign for midwifery students.  The materials are designed already, the volunteer will  1) compile a list of perspective schools and contacts  2) work with COHI's IT Manager to design and send the invitation HTML to possible partner programs, and 3) provide follow-up to each school.  (Stay tuned for Leesha’s presentation!)

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 3. Fundraising event hosts These volunteers will: o Host fundraising events their communities. o COHI is always in need of funds. o COHI will help with the PR and will send all of the IRS tax deductible receipts.

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 4. PR development coordinator. This volunteer will: o Update/ edit COHI’s new PR materials as well keep an eye on our current materials.

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 5. Corporate partnership development coordinator. This volunteer will: o Expand COHI’s current list of business and corporate donors. We'd like to see this list expanded to include other women's focused for-profit efforts.

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 6. Supply/equipment liaisons. These volunteers will: o Assist with the transport of supplies to COHI sites

Current volunteer needs at COHI, cont. 7. Fundraising Technical Assistant. This volunteer will: o Develop templates for fundraising letters, etc. and build the fundraising capacity of COHI field projects.
