Matthew Chapter 5:1-12 A CHRISTIAN’S FUTURE - THE “BE-ATTITIDES” I.Introduction A.The Sermon on the Mount!

1.Begins with “The Beatitudes.” a)Jesus taught it many times. b)Matthew records the greater amount of this sermon. (1)John 21:25 (2)We have all we need!

2.It is not the gospel. a)Not particularly to the unsaved! (1)The Law at its fulfillment! b)No mention of the Holy Spirit! (1)It is part OF God’s word.

B.The “be-attitudes” 1. They are what we will be. II.Matthew 5:1-2 A.The Sermon on the Mount.

1. Natural “amphitheater” 2. He is teaching “His disciples.” III.Matthew 5:3 A.Doesn’t tell you how to become poor in spirit! 1. “blessed are” 9 times.
