Chris Henry's Stances More than half our federal tax dollars are being spent for past, present, and future wars and fund over 700 military bases world-wide. -Chris Henry believes that you cannot resolve conflict through war. - Through Eisenhower ideology he believes that military removal can affect the power of military businesses controlling our economy. "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." -Dwight Eisenhower

What is the Pacific Green Party? The Pacific Green Party of Oregon provides a new voice in the political system, to decentralize political and economic power, and to work for peace, justice, basic human equality, self determination, and an ecologically sustainable society. Pacific Greens are currently elected or appointed to many non-partisan offices or positions throughout the state. Greens put ideas into action on school boards, land and water boards, planning boards, city councils, and various commissions.elected or appointed Third parties haven't had a voice and the republicans and democrats haven't been able to make a positive change in our economy. Pacific Green has a new approach towards salvaging our economy.

Pacific Green Platform The Ten Key Values of the green movement motivate all of our policies: · Grassroots Democracy · Social Justice · Ecological Wisdom · Nonviolence · Future Focus and Sustainability · Respect for Diversity · Decentralization · Community Based Economics · Feminism and Gender Equity · Personal and Global Responsibility

Pacific Green Platform (cont.) We specifically and emphatically demand: · that the U.S. Congress act immediately to address the critical global warming and climate change issues and ratify the Kyoto Accord, drastically reduce our defense budget, phase out all military bases not specifically functioning under a UN resolution to keep peace; · bring home our troops stationed abroad, except for the military assigned to protect a U.S. embassy; and · repeal the USA PATRIOT Act. Some additional key concepts of the platform are: Healthcare System: -Advocate for universal healthcare -Pro-Choice Energy Conservation: -Use and fund research into sustainable and minimally polluting alternative energies and fuels -Establish carbon taxes to internalize the costs of fossil fuel use and to accelerate the transition to alternative fuel sources

Pacific Green Platform (cont.) Drug Policy: -Legalize marijuana Nonviolence Equitable Redistribution of Resources: -Fully fund Social Security, Welfare, and comprehensive health care programs for the unemployed and underemployed -End corporate personhood, corporate welfare, and criminal impunity for corporations -Guarantee workers the right to organize and bargain collectively through democratic union -Provide opportunities for continuing education and job training to all adults, especially the unemployed and underemployed

Closing Candidate Statement To reiterate, More than half our federal tax dollars are being spent for past, present, and future wars and fund over 700 military bases world-wide. Currently our schools are underfunded so just think about what $1 million could do to a district such as those in the washington/multnomah counties. Lunch prices could go down, more facilities could be created, and class sizes could be decreased. War is essentially controlling our economy; and our nation is going further and further into national debt as we spend billions on war tech. Given light to that notion, many of our industries and businesses in America are related to war such as Boeing or other gun factories, etc. Since our government spends so much of our hard earned dollars on war, these businesses have a lot of power and their CEO'S and other corporate officials can begin to lobby for pro-war ideals. This cyclical effect is destroying the balance of power in our economy and wasting valuable resources that could've been diverted to other factions in the US like our education system. Essentially the Pacific Greens are similar to democrats, but we have better concepts on ecological wisdom and economic improvement. Third parties hardly ever get a voice, yet democrats and republicans have continued to remain in office and possess power for too long. Obviously, their ignorant ways haven't worked to the benefit of our economy and our people so we need something new. A NEW Congressman, a NEW position on issues, and NEW results. This is just one of the many issues that I want to take on to help Oregon residents have a higher quality of life. God Bless Oregon, and God Bless America
