Mississippian Culture Existed at Angel Site from around 1000 to Large village site with population at around 2,000 people 11 earth works designed to elevate the elite. Earth works are truncated pyramids Purchased by Eli Lilly and the Indiana Historical Society in Excavations since 1939 annually by Indiana University.
