Multiple Meaning Signs (MMS) ASL learners often struggle with using conceptual accuracy when translating English. This is especially true for English words that can have more than one meaning. errors: Common errors: “That is just like this one.” - signed with TO-LIKE – no! (should be SAME-AS) “Last Friday I was absent.” – signed with LAST – no! (should be PAST)

Test Preparation-MMS exam: You will each find a text excerpt of at least ½ typed page (from a book, magazine, newspaper, text, online source). Choose ten words in the text. Create a grid like we just practiced, and complete it for each of the ten words. You will have a total of 50 English sentences- 10 original sentences, and 40 new sentences.
