What is a Noun? A noun is a person, place, thing or idea. In other words, nouns can be animals, people, or thoughts

Different Types of Nouns There are two different types of nouns. Common nouns and proper nouns are two different types of nouns

-Common nouns do not describe a specific person, place, or thing. -Some examples of common nouns are things such as dogs, horses, mountains, or a teacher. -Common nouns are not capitalized. Common Nouns: What is a Common Noun?

Proper Nouns: What is a Proper Noun? Proper nouns describe a specific person, place or thing. Some examples of proper nouns are the Rocky Mountains, New Jersey, and Harry Potter. Proper nouns are recognized as beginning with a capitol letter. ocky ountains
