Presentation transcript:

Economy never stops in the West. The West’s total population is 59,762,308. The Gold Rush was in the West. It caused people to come to the West. Logging is also a big part of the economy. People sell wood products to get money. That's why economy is so important in the West.

The culture of the West is very colorful. The Hawaiians came to Hawaii from Polynesia. Martial arts also came to the West from different countries and became a very popular sport. The native American tribes of Alaska made totem poles to identify their houses, to celebrate a special event, or to honor someone who died. Those are the colorful cultures of the west.

GeographyBy Heather Short The West has a beautiful geography. It has beautiful mountains, plains, valleys, basins, and hills.

The West has a variety of very different climates. In Seattle, Washington, it could be snowing, and in San Diego, California, people could be swimming in the ocean. In Salt Lake City, Utah, people could be having a skiing contest and in Los Angeles, California, people could be having a surfing contest. That is the variety of climates in the West.
