Tabulation programs should be developed at the beginning of the survey/census process A table presents summarized statistical data in ordered rows and columns, including: –Item totals –Total units with specific characteristics –Averages –Percentages 2

Table Classifications Data is usually grouped or classified to facilitate data presentation International classifications should be used where possible National classifications should be able to provide data by international classifications where they differ 3

Main Classification Items Administrative or agro-ecological zones –National groupings –All holdings Legal status of holder –Household and non-household sector classifications –All holdings Area of holding –Without land, with land from less than 0.1ha to 2,500 ha and over –All holdings 4

General recommendations are provided by the twelve supplementary module themes. There are unlimited possible tabulations and each country should make their own tabulation program based on national needs. 8
