What geographic knowledge, skills and perspectives do citizens need in order to make decisions that are likely to improve the quality of their lives now and to plan responsibly for the future? (MOSTD. IV.E, 1.5;1.6;1.7)

What geographic knowledge, skills and perspectives do citizens need in order to make decisions that are likely to improve the quality of their lives now and to plan responsibly for the future? (MO 1.5;1.6;1.7) Analyze the following three rainfall maps of Missouri. Over the last 60 years, do you see a trend? Predict what the rainfall over the next 30 years will be. Explain why you think this trend will or will not continue.

What has happened to the rainfall over the last 30 years? What do you believe has caused this trend? Explain.

Now predict what the rainfall during the next 30 years will be like. What can be done to keep this trend from continuing? Change the arrow to a “pen” so you can draw your changes on the screen! Back to beginning
