The Egyptian Information and Communication Technology Trust Fund was jointly established by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in January The Fund is a mechanism to foster socio-economic development by creating public-private partnerships to support the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The Fund currently sponsors five main projects, with the aim of furthering development in Egypt by increasing awareness of ICT and its benefits as well as making it more accessible and affordable to all citizens.
