THE BEGINNING PROMETHEUS originally began in the year 2004 as a medical inter-collegiate sports event hosted by us, M.S. RAMAIAH MEDICAL COLLEGE, which was attended by colleges from all over the country for events like cricket, football, basketball and many others.

In 2009, cultural events were introduced in PROMETHEUS and were made open to medical and non medical colleges all over India The participation has significantly increased over the past few years – from 28 colleges in 2009 to an incredible turnout of 55 colleges in 2012 Our fest reaches out to more than 200 colleges in the country in terms of brochures, posters and other forms of advertisement

The Ramaiah University offers 17 different courses and has over 25,000 students in the same campus We have had a promising footfall throughout the event of more than 1500 audience and participants each day. With the 7 hostels which accommodate students from all courses being in the vicinity of the stage area, all events attract a larger crowd.

We were ranked as one of the top 5 college fests in Bangalore, in an article featured in Deccan Herald in 2013 Our main events in the past years have been rock concert, edm night, fashion show, battle of the bands, western dance, Indian music, etc. In 2010 and 2012 GALEEJ GURUS played at our fest for an audience of over a 1500

This year we will be hosting the fest at the heart of the M S Ramaiah campus which has all the colleges and hostels. It is better in terms of crowd response since the engineering college itself has a student strength of over 5000 students

NOT JUST ANOTHER FEST ‘A LITTLE SEVA IS ALL THEY NEED’ Little seva, a non-profit charitable NGO run by a group of students, is a symbol of compassion of every Ramaihiite! Little Seva has its head office in Bellary and is currently a Government approved NGO that works towards betterment of underprivileged lives.

The MSRMC wing presently concentrates its work on Hope Children Home. Funds are raised by its members through newspaper drives, setting up game stalls during college fests and personal donations Prometheus 2013 gave us a profit of over Rs 20,000. The funds thus raised went into buying clothes and shoes for the children of HCH. Our activities also extend to health camps and awareness campaigns
