Welcome to Art I & 3D StudioDesign! Mrs. Cummings

Course Goals Art I: -In depth discovery and exploration of the elements & principles of design -Hands on studio experience using a variety of media -Overview of Art historical references relating to our course work. 3D Studio: -Emphasis on 3-Dimensional design & working "in the round" while applying basic skills acquired in Art I -Media exploration including a variety of styles & applications... wood building, plaster, clay, paper mâché, etc...

SKETCHBOOK GUIDELINES: -MINIMUM of 30 minutes spent -Use only 1 side of page -Include a background… use entire composition! -Sketchbooks must be turned in beginning of bell when due, or grade will be lowered! -Sketchbooks will be evaluated by your peers and myself every Wednesday using the following rubric (next slide)

Last year was my first year here at Southwest where I taught graphic design, Art I, & 6th grade Art at the JS. - I currently am a working artist & sell my work at several local interior design stores.
