CAR Release December 2009 CAR Part V, Subpart 21, Approval of/or Changes to the Type Design of an Aeronautical Product or an Appliance. Publication consolidated parts of CAR 505 and all of 511, 513, 591 and 593, which are now deleted. Subpart 16, and 51 replaced with CAR 521 but associated STD remains for all.
CAR Release December 2009 AWM (4) to file an SDR for a SUP is now an information note following STD CAR , , , , SDR reference to changed to Division IX of Subpart 21 of Part V. CAR (1)(b) and (2), references to STD 593 (AD’s) changed to section

Standardization MD-M technical information sessions to start in 2011 as part of AME Symposiums. Foreign ATO PVIs being conducted then standardized in Atlantic Region. Assessment of foreign AME applicants. M&M Standards to provide additional Regional Standardization with regards to the issuance of all M&M related certificates.
Foreign Agreements TCCA/FAA BASA, MIP, AC Allows for maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations (exception annual inspections). AMOs must have TCCA approved FAA Supplement to its MPM for Part 121/135 air carriers and FAA Repair Stations must have FAA approved TCCA Supplement for Part IV/VII operated aircraft.
Foreign Agreements (con’t) EASA Administrative Arrangement on Maintenance. TCCA Form One accepted by EASA Aug TCCA Surveillance Policy (SUR-008) accepted by EASA Oct SUR-001 Appendix ee, EASA PVI.
Foreign Agreements (con’t) EASA/TCCA Treaty signed but not ratified. MIP to be accepted and implemented 2010/11. Current AAM-G applicable and parts or commercially operated Canadian aircraft must be certified by EASA- 145/573 approved facility.
