Class Fee Instructors are volunteers Modest reimbursement for training expenses is permitted [$15- $30] – classroom rental, copies, other materials, etc. If charging more than $30, you need to submit a justification to central office FDEP does not permit any type of compensation for instructors, except as part of normal duties of employment

Class Cancellations Notify state office – online form Notify registered participants [by phone] For insufficient enrollment: Under 10 registered 7 days notice Establishing a deadline for participants to register and pay for the class will allow you time to prepare for the class. A reasonable time frame is three days before the training takes place. In the future registration will be managed through the FFL website. If the class is cancelled due to poor enrollment, registered participants need to be informed at least three days in advance, to give them enough time to re-organize their work schedules. Many of the participants, especially single-man operations, will not earn income during the time devoted to training. 21 21

Pre-Training Recommendations Scantron – instructors must insure that DOB is bubbled in. Make copies of TR in white/light colors Lead instructor must strive to post trainings before 30 days Avoid last minute delays in ordering manuals, test, etc. Use latest training record; insure it is filled out completely. What to do if they run out of scantron exams? What to do if they do not receive the exams in time?

Spanish Manual Page 30, drop spreader should not be used when applying sulfur coated fertilizer. The GI-BMP class focuses on increasing environmental knowledge and developing skills to conduct landscape maintenance efficiently and effectively, to create a “culture” of landscaping practitioners immersed in best practices to protect the water resources in Florida. The present training is delivered in a six-hour-long class, which consists of five modules. In the future, there will be other training options, including an online class. Upon completion of the GI-BMP class participants need to take a test. Participants with a score of 75% or higher will receive a GI-BMP certificate of training, which will be mailed to the trainees approximately two weeks after the class. This includes a wallet card. Certificates are stamped and numbered. According to new laws, all commercial fertilizer applicators need to obtain a FDACS Limited Commercial Fertilizer Applicator Certificate (LCFAC) by 2014 The GI-BMP certificate of training is required to apply for this FDACS certification and it is also required by some local governments to obtain a work permit.
