DAILY QUESTION December 12, No Daily Question.

Agenda12/12/08 No Daily Question Brochure Project –Laptop Research Assignments: 1. Work on Brochure… you will be presenting your final brochure on Tuesday, December 16.

Nuclear Science and Technology Brochure Using information from the American Nuclear Society website ( textbook, and Harrisburg High School library. Students will create a tri-fold brochure that: Covers one of five possible areas of our life (food, industry, medicine, space, or electricity) Outlines at least three applications (uses) of Nuclear science and technology in the chosen area of our life Has at least three pictures (may be hand drawn or computer generated) that represents the information provided in the brochure Is logically organized Is presented in an attractive and creative way On Friday (12/10), we will be researching on the laptop lab in the classroom. On Monday (12/15), we will be researching/working in the library. On Tuesday (12/16), you will be presenting your final brochure to the class.

Create a brochure about how Nuclear Science and Technology affects our lives that informs, educates, or persuades. The brochure is not an in-depth study of a topic, but it should give enough information to grab and keep the readers interest from start to finish. A brochure may cover a broad topic but it shouldn't contain so much information that it overwhelms the reader. Choose 3 key points to describe. If there are other important elements, consider listing them in a simple bullet list or chart somewhere in your brochure. In addition to what your brochure says, you must decide the best format to present your information. Different formats work best for brochures with lots of text, lots of pictures, small blocks of text, lists, charts, or maps. You'll need to find the format that works best for your information. You can either create a brochure by hand or with the use of a computer. Please be aware that either way, the final brochure is due on Tuesday, December 16.
